ACC's Guideline-Driven Heart Failure Essentials for Primary Care Physicians Program
Description
Efforts to prevent and manage heart failure as a worldwide epidemic have received significant attention given the high burden of the disease, poor long-term prognosis, and costs. In Latin America, primary physicians (PCPs) serve on the frontline for heart failure treatment, especially in countries with limited numbers of cardiologists. PCPs have an urgent need for pragmatic approaches to guideline-driven recommendations from initial assessment and diagnosis to patient care management, as well as up-to-date information on special areas of consideration for patients with heart failure.

  • Target Audience: This program recognizes earners who have demonstrated a fundamental understanding heart failure caring including guideline-driven treatment and management strategies. This program is intended for the PCPs caring for patients in Latin America.
  • Program Topics: The ACC’s Guideline-Driven Heart Failure Essentials for Primary Care Physicians Program is an online learning experience comprised of three mini courses that will allow PCPs in Latin America the opportunity to increase practical knowledge and gain valuable skills in the assessment, diagnosis, guideline-driven medical therapy, and special considerations such as acute care needs of the heart failure patient.
