Learner Objectives
Upon completion of this program, you should be able to:
- Describe the patient population in whom colchicine 0.5 mg daily has demonstrated benefit for reducing composite recurrent ischemic events following acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
- Explain which individual ischemic cardiovascular outcomes are reduced by adding colchicine 0.5 mg daily to optimal medical therapy following AMI.
- Determine an appropriate duration of treatment with colchicine for an individual patient.
- React appropriately to drug-drug interaction alerts that will arise when prescribing colchicine in cardiac patients.
