What You Will Learn

• Describe the current epidemiology, natural history, and clinical consequences of untreated moderate and severe aortic stenosis, including recent evidence supporting earlier intervention.
• Apply guideline‑informed principles to the echocardiographic assessment and grading of aortic stenosis severity, particularly in the setting of discordant or ambiguous findings.
• Recognize common factors contributing to underdiagnosis and delayed treatment of aortic stenosis in real‑world clinical practice, including variability in symptom presentation and health system barriers.
• Identify sex‑based and demographic differences in the presentation and progression of aortic stenosis that may affect timely diagnosis and referral.
• Incorporate practical screening strategies—such as optimized murmur auscultation and emerging digital tools—to support earlier identification of patients who may require further evaluation.
• Determine when patients with moderate or severe aortic stenosis should be referred to a multidisciplinary heart valve team using case‑based clinical scenarios.
