AAPA Credit Designation Statement – Enduring Materials

The American College of Cardiology Foundation has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until 11/22/27. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Interprofessional Continuing Education (ICPE) Credit:

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 1 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change.

 

Method of Participation and CME Certificate 

To request credit, you must:

Learner Objectives 
Upon completion of this activity, you should be able to: 

  1. Describe the new Atrial Fibrillation classification scheme which is now based on stages of the disease rather than the duration.
  2. Recall the new recommendations as it relates to risk factor modification and prevention of thromboembolism.
  3. Understand the updated recommendations for left atrial appendage closure and catheter ablation therapy.
  4. Describe the new recommendations for rate control and rhythm control.

Target Audience
General cardiologists and the cardiac care team (RN, NP, PA).
