An interactive learning activity that teaches learners how to complete risk assessment and develop a guideline driven treatment plan to optimize therapy for ASCVD patients. Through the use of case studies, learners will challenge their knowledge and reinforce key concepts in secondary prevention.
Learning ObjectivesUpon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify very high-risk ASCVD patients according to the 2018 cholesterol guidelines.
- Identify intensity of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)-lowering therapy for patients with ASCVD at very high risk and not at very high risk.
- Recognize the importance of matching the intensity of therapy to patient’s absolute risk of recurrent ASCVD events.
Target AudienceThe intended audience is cardiovascular team clinicians who complete risk assessments and coordinate treatment plans and/or deliver care for patients with hypercholesterolemia.
